I have an Etrac with a 15 x 12 SEF and would struggle at 4" to pick it up

I supose it depends on the soil conditions wet, packed, loose etc I know that with a 15" wot using a sov on wet sand the depth is excellent.

Have you spent much time using a wot coil Rob? Because i have read some good reviews on it. To many people run out and buy the most expensive setup's because of Joan Allens reviews, and don't want to admit that that another setup maybe better because of how much they have been ripped off for!

The WOT is still a great coil if you can get a reasonably priced one. Remember that the laws of physics apply when using any VLF machine, which means that the larger the coil the greater the power (i.e. depth) but less sensitivity (target size) as a result.

Besides it don't matter if you run the highest sensitivity or have the largest most expensive coil you still need to walk over the target.
