If memory serves me the swirling sun symbol at the bottom of the weight had something to do with Portugese escudos. Nice find Neil Title: Re: Help needed to ID this object Post by: Chef Geoff on April 28, 2011, 10:33:22 AM Nice find Wayno, Like Neil I have a similar one id'd as a 1 Ecu (French) coin weight (unofficial English issue), the pics aren't that clear so I can't see how many circles (anullets) it has, each one represents 1 coin.
