Well I had half a day off today, which I managed to wangle into a full day. So I took the opportunity to get 4 hours detecting in. The ground has benefited from the bit of rain we have had over the last few days but the low conductors are still conspicuous by their absence and finds in general were few and far between, but I was very pleased with what I did get.

First up was this small 13-15thC buckles, this was a deep signal and took some digging out at about 11"

Then came a nice little surprise, at first I thought it was yet another Roman grot but a quick wide revealed it to be a Rose farthing of Charles I.

Then came, what is for me, the find of the day. You may of read my post regarding the amount of large (early) musket balls we have found in two fields here, well 160 meters from the closest ball I found this cap to a one shot powder flask, which now gives a firing line for the muskets.

Other than that my only other finds were two farthings, one bent George III and a first for me a George IV.

Well done Geoff .... A day without any roman finds that has to be a first  :o :o lol
