Title: You can look on "the gold mine" if you like
Post by: hedgehog on April 11, 2009, 08:50:01 PM
All through the winter I have been scouting around for ground and have been going to one farm. Some nice little bits turning up sporadically, nothing stunning but mostly interesting. One day in the week he told me he would be ploughing the gold mine soon, I said where is that? "oh it's in front of the house, we'll be ploughing it soon". DAMN! it's been free all winter (had maize on last year). Another guy goes to the same farm, I asked if he had been there, "no he doesn't go on that field". Went on there for a couple of hours today, 17th cent silver spoon bowl, 1919 sixpence and a badly cut hammered. Gonna plant it with maize again this week!
His wife had the spoon bowl, doesn't want any more hammered coins, fed up with those!
