Title: Newbies from Brynamman
Post by: Immortal on March 17, 2012, 10:38:00 PM
Hello all
My girlfriend and myself are two total newbies.
We have just purchased a Garrett EuroAce and intend to go out at some point very soon.
I suppose like everyone does we tried the garden and are now proud owners of 1 very large rusty nail,a coke can circa 1982,several screws and a co-op milk bottle top.......and the garden looks like the Somme.
Thanks for reading, looks like a very interesting forum
John and Marie

Welcome to the forum.
As newbies to the hobby, remember that you need always to ask permission where ever you go detecting.
Try and join a local club, ask as many questions on here, as there is always someone on here that will advise you.
Join the FID or the other association whose name escapes me  ;D

Your garden looks like the Somme!  ???
Not a good description to put on a metal detecting website.  :-\
Better if you said you dug holes in your lawn but nobody would know that afterwards.
Obviously you were joking  ;D

I am not too far from Brynamman and I am a member of the Celtic Searchers from Llanelli and on their club rallies or charity rallies they always say fill your holes in properly or get kicked off and never invited again.

Welcome to a great hobby and a great website and as said before you will always get great advice on this website. I am only just getting used to making posts myself.
