Post by: dances with badgers on April 07, 2012, 06:14:39 PM
hello peeps i went to rest bay today but it was useless so i called at aber on way back and got a silver ring and an ancient looking coin ,maybe a hammie, its very thin.i cant make out any writing on it just a lion or griffin on a plinth bit its hard to make any other details out,if u got any ideas feel free to chip in,might not even be a coin?it is the size of a 2p  and think its silver but dont want to mess about with it too much, its very fragile. cheers peeps

What about trying the old brass rubbing trick that we used to do as kids? A piece of paper and a pencil and maybe it will bring out a little of the detail from both sides.
