Title: Nice Church
Post by: avalon on July 08, 2012, 02:40:07 PM
I found an amazing church this afternoon whilst driving around looking for a few new sites.  The church is Saxon/Norman with a tower built in the 16 th Century. It’s surrounded by fields so should be plenty of finds just waiting to be found

Just need to find out who the landowner is.

He lives in the bell tower Nobby, a bit like the Hunchback of Notre-Dame.  The bit where he say’s they’ve taken my Esmeralda, should read they’ve taken our heritage.  ::)

found my first ever gold coin in a field  next  to a church which had footpath running through it ,,,had shed loads of coins mainly georgian/vic but it was a vic church so i think the age of finds will corespond with the age of the church.

Well I got permission on the neighbouring farm today,  so I hope to move in for the kill fairly soon. Thought it was wise to grab the  farm next door first, and make friends with that farmer as it will make it easier to get the church farm at a later date. If I go in strait away and he blows me out of the water, that is it, finished.
The worst thing you can do is say , ‘’hey mate do you own this farm, can I dig for some treasure!’’ Never works, in my book, got to be more subtle
