As already stated you need permission off the land owner before you can detect anywhere. The beach is the only place you can go without permission but you do need a beach licence. Quick and easy to down load from the BEACH DETECTING section in the Forum. They are free and all you do is enter your details and down load. Not often anyone asks for it but Tenby and one or two others had a downer on detecting last year and were asking for them.They threatened to take detectors without one. The other thing you need to think about is insurance. Not too expensive and, once again, easy to do on line. Suggest NCMD costs £9 (I think) for the first year. Unless you join a club in which case insurance is usualy part of the membership cost. Have you tried your garden yet ?? amazing what comes up close to home. Happy hunting. Guess im not having much luck at the moment, but will certainly keep trying.

I was horrified how my powermax II did not peform. I'll never sell it tho. Out of 9 good targets including a cut half, roman minim, I picked up only 4 :o I spoke to the wife and okayed it with her and bought a Tejon with the 10 by 12 coin and picked up all 9 a week later ;D ;)

i found loads of coins on old playing fields,parks not recent ones old parks,also old footpathes. now i prefer beaches for the bling i sometimes get ;D |
