Title: 925 solid silver monkey Post by: Dale on December 15, 2012, 10:04:02 PM Hi all, I found this last year in local playing fields, the oldest coin I have ever found there is victorian so I don't think its older than that. I tried over and over again to research it but never got anywhere really. it's a strange one as it doesn't stand up and it doesn't look as if anything has snaped off it, chain loops ect. The only thing I can think of is a charm??? But there must be more than one.Any help would be great thanks

This 925 mark was first used in 1973 before that as far back as 1904 the silver mark was .925 in an oval [ note the decimal point in front of the 9 ] . i.e. 92.5 parts silver 7.5 parts usually copper.
