Determined to get to a rally soon but won,t be this one. Working Easter Sat and Sun  and in Rhyl on the 6th and 7th for the Welsh cup semi final. Happy hunting all Bridgewater  is a great place with plenty of history has as been proved by the previous rallies in the area.

Hi Adam, Dont know for sure, but suspect it will be the one in Somerset.

Its open to members of the forum only, but as you've joined, you are a member :)

You just need insurance and to bring your £7 on the day.

Taff posts you the directions the night before the rally usually.

UPDATE

Ok have spoke to the farmer tonight and we have 10 fields of pasture amounting to around 70 acres. I've checked on google earth and most of these fields have been ploughed in the last 10 years.

I also double checked if they have had detectorists on them before and its a definate no.
However , they did tell that there was a small medieval hoard found in the next door farm 2 years ago.

As the forcast is fine (if cold) for the rest of the week, Geoff is going to put on a token hunt as well as the normal rally  :)

The spaxton rally was held on this land a couple of years ago, I was on it. not much was found. the hoard that was found was a roman purse hoard with no single roman coins being found. no hammered coins were found either. just being honest guys. good luck though anyway.
cheers, keith.

No , no and no. I have gone through pains to check and double check that this land has not had a rally on it. The rally was held on the farm next door. There has categorically not been a rally held on this farm.

No I don't think you read the write up did you? the small hoard was found on the next farm which had a rally and NOT this farm.
So your not being honest at all, your just starting a rumour :-\

Really guys, I was embarrassed enough after the last rally. There is no way I would hold a rally on a pasture farm that had already had a rally held on it.

Just read this Rob. Don't know why you need to have been embarrassed mate. The comments were about the awareness of landowners as to how much
money can be made for a rally on their land and the way they maybe portray that land to acquire the event.

Hi all

Thanks for today. I had 2 heart stoppers first one I thought was a Axe head when I first pulled it out the soil. Then second I thought Ohhhh a Purse bar but nope.. Oh well I did manage to find a William coin but I think the cow pats have eaten it away too much  :o
I also had a nice Viccy farthing in not bad condition.. Pats missed this one but might have been peed on LOL..  Now my best find of the day came early in the first half hour in the form of a PRATTS fuel cap still with its seal inside...

Cheers
TF

Spent a lot of time paddling knee-deep in s##t  to get around the farmland- thank goodness Morley was too busy freeing himself to get his camera out!!! Found one battered coin, a 10p piece, a sixth of a buckle and an, as yet unidentified, object along with a couple of medicine tubes. No-one I spoke to seemed to be finding much either so I decided to cut my losses at lunch time and go and play with the resident Collie, Lamb and Hens.
