Title: Axe Hoard Inquest Post by: Landyman on March 22, 2013, 09:29:23 PM Almost a year ago on April 1st I found a hoard of bronze age axe heads - http://www.detectingwales.com/index.php?topic=14411.msg133852#msg133852 (http://www.detectingwales.com/index.php?topic=14411.msg133852#msg133852) I have now at last been given a date in May for the Coroners inquest. I have never been to one before and was wondering if this is a normal time to wait? And also can anyone could tell me what to expect there? The inquests are often covered by reporters from local newspapers and they may ask to do a report. It is an opportunity to get some good publicity. With publicity there comes the chance of gaining land to search. It is worth being prepared and having an idea of what you would like quoted in a report. You can never be sure that they will report accurately. However, you can try and sway them. Tell them you are always looking for land to search and ask if they can request landowners to contact you if interested. Give them an e-mail address and phone number if you don't mind it printed. As for it being insured the ncmd are requesting the Flo and BM should have insurance for lost or damaged items in their possession. If so how can they arrange such if the finder can't ??? TF ;) |
