Title: My introduction
Post by: Garrettace150 on July 08, 2013, 10:49:07 AM
Hello to you all

My name is Rob Winstanley, I am 26 years old and have lived in prestatyn my whole life. I am a 3rd generation "Dirt digger" following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather.

In may 2013 I was given a garrett ace 150 for my birthday from my fiancé, since opening and setting up my machine I have become ever increasingly interested and almost obsessed with the idea of handling certain items of interest straight from the owners hands or the person burying or losing these items throughout the previous ages.

Through metal detecting I have discovered a deep interest in history and will show an interest in "anything that has age to it" what is it ? who`s was it? who made it? how did it get here? where did it come from? what was it used for? why was it buried?and how old is it ?

A gateway into the previous ages !

Welcome to the forum.

It is a great feeling holding something and thinking "how come this was put here" "was it lost or was the owner attacked" "was it buried from pillagers, plague etc. etc." it does conjure up some great thoughts.

And most of all it's fun as you never know when or where you will find something!
