Title: Re: coinweight Post by: Val Beechey on October 12, 2013, 08:42:55 PM Hi Alan, I've been having a look and I think it could be 15th C. Angel Figure qtr. gold Noble weight.
Have a look on the Colchester site at the last one down that sits on the James 1st blue line. Let me know what you think. Val Title: Re: coinweight Post by: handyman [Alan} on October 13, 2013, 07:17:27 AM i think you are in the right area with that Val. Many thanks for looking, much appreciated indeed. The weight of the weight ;D is 0.4g, which should help me ID it further.
thanks for taking the time out to look. cheers Title: Re: coinweight Post by: Dale on October 13, 2013, 08:30:29 AM Hi Alan, at 0.4g that's very light, hammered farthing weight, it may not be from a coin but id look more into Apothecary square weights, you may get closer to your 0.4g
