Title: Braved the weather
Post by: Chef Geoff on October 27, 2013, 03:07:18 PM
Out this morning for a trip over the bridge to a SCAN dig near Chepstow.
Well as I've posted before my best finds always seem to be at the beginning or very end of a session and today was to be no different with my first three diggable signals giving me my only finds worth showing.
The very first was a little iffy but a digger and a worthwhile dig it was as it's my first hammy for two months and was a Lizzy halfgroat, next was a spectacle buckle in nice condition quickly followed by a Roman Grot.
So an artifact, Roman and hammy all in the space of 10 minutes :o.........sadly that was my quota with only a couple of buttons and foil in the proceeding 2 hours.
The weather was worsening by the minute virtually and so with the prospect of having to drive back to Somerset via Gloucester if I left it too late, I left.
A pleasant morning in pleasant company...though I did see one scary face................................Hi Rambo ;D ;D

No haven't done the headphones yet, that's a job for tomorrow. Etrac worked fine, I decided to practice what I preach and just dug the low tones and avoided looking at the screen.
Dale you are sooo right! I thought "wow this is going to be hell of a day" :-[

it was good to finally meet you there :)

Apart from Mike's Bristol farthing, I think you had the best three finds of the day!

Now all I have to do is get used to the E-Trac (new noises and the weight-lifting aspects).

Yes likewise, the grot turned out to be an "Urbs" so you were spot on with 4th ;)
