I'm a bit outside my comfort zone on this, but here are my thoughts - I may be wrong though :o First of all, I don't think it's gold, and it may not even be plated silver. I think it's meant to be a silver half thaler of Maximilian III Josef of Bavaria. However, these don't exist for 1760 and should weigh about 14 grams. My conclusion is that it's a repro, pssibly in base metal, but I don't know whether produced in the 18th century or much more recently. Title: Re: gold pendant find any ideas? if it was gold it should weigh a lot more about 28 grams i think but still an interesting find. cheers. Title: Re: gold pendant find any ideas? Post by: The Doc on November 04, 2013, 08:35:17 PM Yes - forgot to say that it's still a nice find :)
