Title: cows & horses

 ;D my one detecting m8, not a member on detectingwales.com will not go in a field detecting if there is  cows or horses in them ;D i do giggle a bit at this but can see where he is coming from on it,....... does any of our members on here have the same problem as him !! ???

 lol no probs from this way,   but i do know men who won't go anywhere near a field with them in.
 last year i was in a feild detecting, a load of cows and calves surrounded me and followed me around,  i had a go at counting them  there were about 100, maybe a few more,  lol,  i just talked to them and carried on, taking my life into my own hands maybe with those calves around too  , ohh well there you go lol,  they left me alone a bit later,

I don't mind them they are just inquisitive normally, just don't like the flies they bring with them!

The cows tend to like Ian , a lot. One was getting rather frisky with him a few weeks ago . Ask him ;D

Most horses I come across seem to be friendly enough especially the wild mountain ones. Cows concern me more, I dont mind walking past them if they dont seem bothered by me but the one in the following pic did my head in I'd walked about 5 miles to find a cache then found these guys blocking the style I had to cross to get back. I had to do a 1 mile detour that turned out to be about 3 miles coz I got lost on the return journey.

when we were in our teens my mate got bit on the shoulder by a horse and had to have a skin grath. they got some wicked teeth

yeah, big strong ones,  twice iv'e been out with an apple in my lunch box in my back pack,  a horse has smelled it and pestered me all round the field nibbling at the top of my bag,

when i am in a field with cows,horses and taff the first thing i look for is a escape route dont now what he's going to get up to.the last time the cows was jumping round like lambs :o im sure taff gave them something ;D

Well I must be the doctor dolittle of metal detecting I,ve been followed by cows horses sheep pigs and chickens etc pity the detector did,nt have the same effect on the topless sun bathers ;D ;D ;D mole

Mole the most animals I've been followed by at once , when detecting....and they were in a small gathering I may add! was , A big black chicken , a sheep and two dogs...everytime I stopped to dig a hole , the two dogs sat down, the sheep lay dowm and the chicken....well the chicken just stood there.

horses usually take a shine to me....must be my deodorant.... >:(...i keep an eye on them...but be wary of cows when they have calves....they can be nasty !.....byron
