Post by: Doug on July 01, 2014, 12:59:37 PM
This field was due to be ploughed and seeded with wallflowers so I had a few hours in it over several evenings.

Field was ploughed yesterday.

Photograph number 2, top left, people of a certain age will remembers these door catches?

Not really any idea of what they are, I have found quite a few over the years and most have had a piece of wire attached to the one of the holes.

The only thing I can think of is part of a stop cock for the cattle water troughs out in the fields although it looks to be quite elaborate.

....unless anybody can throw up any ideas?

it looks like an adjustable piece similar to a car alternator plate that you bolt up through the slot when tension is right  ::)

That would make sense, broken off a tractor alternator/dynamo?
