Title: Another first for me Post by: DEADLOCK on February 11, 2015, 08:06:31 PM Ive been wanting 1 of these for a long time, still cant believe i found one over the moon with it lovely james 1st shilling not worked out the mint mark yet thought i wait to get better pictures of it.

Title: Re: Another first for me Post by: probono on February 12, 2015, 09:41:57 AM Well the reverse mm looks like Cinquefoil to me (1613-15) - it's definitely at least a second period shilling (reverse with QUAe etc) - and the obverse 'HI' rather than 'HIB' - but the obverse mm doesn't look like cinquefoil to me - there's very little space left for the mm too (there are no pellets eithe side of it, which should help nail it down to which period).
