Title: Little bit-a-silver !!
Post by: dingdong on August 08, 2015, 06:49:49 PM
Hi folks, managed an hour out in the sunshine today, this little charm decided it was time to surface
It was found about four inches down, and about three feet from an old wooden style,I think it's only sterling silver, oh well better than a ringpull !!LOL👍

Very nice little find Chris.  Is that a stone set in it ?

I think you'll find that .925 indicates the purity of the silver  i.e. 92.5% pure but 7.75% other metal. The absence of a City hall mark might mean it was stamped by the maker but not assayed. Maybe made for a friend ? And yes it is Sterling.

Hi Wittsy1, thanks for your comments, yes things are looking much better since I got the Nokta FORS CoRe,it really is the first machine, apart from the early GARRETT,S that i feel is a machine just made for me,just love it,and if it got broken for any reason,I wouldn't hesitate on going straight out and buying another, for me,yes its that good, and I have to be honest if it hadn't been down to "CHEF'S" recommendations I probably wouldn't have bought it, so a big thanks to him.
I am looking forwards to getting onto a new permission this week, its got a bit of very old history attached to it so fingers crossed, with regards to yourself, well keep on swinging and who knows,it may be your turn next for the big "H"!!👍
