Title: Silver Brooch?
Post by: Myke on December 31, 2016, 11:14:41 AM
Found at depth near ancient watchtower, appears to have had set jewel at one end and has engraved shaft with eyes or buds?
Pin is missing. definitely silver but no hallmark that i can see.
Wondering about age of this ?  Im thinking victorian but as it was so deep and 16th century hammered coin found close by maybe its of interest?

Looks to be in the form of an animals leg to me Myke. Possibly deer ?? The jewel setting being the foot
