Hole in one end and it tapers into a spike at the other end. Havnt got a clue what it is . Anyone have a clue as to what it is. Sorry if this is disappointing. Thank you Ian , and no it is not disappointing . I enjoy finding anything and everything that i have not seen before. A farmer friend has also said it was a gate post hinge .
