Post by: hedgehog on January 28, 2009, 10:43:19 AM
I know nothing about selling bits and pieces , but just had a look on e-bay at this , is the one strapend silver? It looks stunning and seems to be very cheap at the moment!

When i was looking for a bidding on that soldiers ring, i missed i few sets of  Bronze Roman soldier rings and they didnt go over £50
I wanted the ring to wear  interesting talking point i thought ive seen a few nice roman gold rings but there wayyyyyy to pricey for me

all the best Phil

The recession/credit crunch has really hammered the prices on antiquities and antiques in general.  We have really noticed a drop in general sales, and its quite understandable. Why spend on non essential or luxury items in troubled times?

The one plus side is if you got money to spend its a buyers market at the moment. Interest rates are negligable or non existent, shares way too unprdeictable and gold has rocketed beyond an investible margin so investing in antiques might be a sensible option.

No end in sight for five years plus in my opinion.
