Title: French & Swiss Gold Coins . . .
Post by: Neil on December 21, 2009, 08:47:50 PM
Not detecting finds, but you never know as they used to circulate over here as well.

Couple of gold coins from my collection I have come across recently.

The first is an 1860 Five Franc from France bearing the head of Napoleon III - unfortunately someones put a hole in it.

Next is a Swiss 10 France dated 1915 in perfect condition. I believe it was minted in Bergen.

What a shame that we no longer circulate gold coinage - I suppose people would just stock pile them though.

As usual if anyone wants to sell any gold coins from any countries - I am always interested regardless of condition. A half sov I had a while ago off a DW member even looked like it had been chewed by a cow! ;D

Cheers
Neil

Yeah - its a shame Debs - I am also thinking a pendent, necklace or brooch. Why did people do that - its really annoying!

Glad you all liked them
