Title: Great day on new farm...
Post by: coinhunter on May 09, 2010, 11:23:50 PM
Had a great few hours out today, detected with my father ( Ace ) and TinTin.
First field was very quiet, but the second field started to produce the goodies right left and centre.
Coins came thick and fast, Georgian, Pre Decimals and modern, in all i found 11 coins including my first Silver Joey ( George V 1917 )  and a lovely little badge showing man and woman on a motorbike, and an old toy cap gun  ;D
Ace followed with another 11 coins, which included another Silver Joey ( Vicky 1892 ) and a Vicky Shilling, he also had an eagle badge and a curios looking buckle.
TinTin joined in the finds with an old Penny, and a complete spoon  ;D ;D
Most other finds where run of the mill stuff, including musket balls, buckles, buttons,  lead, and cow tags.
All in all we had a great day
Josh

Hi Coinhunter,

That Eagle looks like the RAF insignia Eagle to me:

Great finds Josh. The buckle is a medieval 'locking' buckle, dates 1350-1450, see here:
