Title: another scrap bucket story
Post by: mickycoin "mick" on February 02, 2011, 02:42:50 PM
found an artefact a few years back on a well detected club site, always beleived it was an old broken tap handle or similar as the picture,it went up to Cardiff and turns out to be an 11th century alloy harness fitting,""cheek-pieces, bit-links,&harness links" its a very very rare find for the part of wales it was found, I have been informed that its being put into the portable antiquites book 2010, think i better have another look in that bucket  mickycoin  mick ;D ;D

it is amazing what ends up in the scrap buckets. My claim to fame is 97% of a Bronze Age gouge rescued thankfully.
