Title: maid marian?? Post by: handyman [Alan} on February 10, 2011, 06:34:27 PM ok -- well maybe not her, but is it king john?
-- found on the surface, whilst i was out with techony yesterday. enjoy. Title: Re: maid marian?? Post by: Tafflaff (Rob) on February 10, 2011, 06:42:35 PM I think it is John , Type 4c , Cantebury Monyer - Hve
Title: Re: maid marian?? Post by: handyman [Alan} on February 10, 2011, 06:50:25 PM thx taff -- there only apears to be one other such coin recorded on the PAS database
Title: Re: maid marian?? Post by: The Doc on February 10, 2011, 08:23:43 PM Great coin Alan. As far as I can see, your ID is correct Rob.
Not a common coin at all. The Mass collection of 2200 short cross coins doesn't have a full coin of this, just a cut half. The mint signature CANTI may indicate Class 4b, but the obverse seems to have the reversed 'S' of class 4c, so it might be a 4c/4b mule. Well worth recording, either on PAS, UKDFD or both. Title: Re: maid marian?? Post by: handyman [Alan} on February 10, 2011, 08:42:55 PM LOL - thx guys - i blame techony -- he stopped me to talk ... after which i turned to the right and ..whoopee!!
