When I sent an Important letter by recorded delivery the other day the women in the post office said to me 'Now love, you do realise theres guarantee they'll receive this'......... Huh

Way to fill me with confidence in the potal system,

Recorded delivery is not a guarantee of delivery, only a proof that someone has received it.

This isnt news to me ive worked in the light haulage Parcel system most of my working life.

I remember one disgruntled Sub contractor taking a van full of pacels and ducuments  while he was working for a national parcel service and he was never seen again.

The Telly and video i bought off him only lasted 1 year that rouge lol  Tongue

He he  only joking

A couple of people I know are Ex - postmen. The scams they tell me about are amazing. Surprised anything gets through to the delivery point. I always get the bills though.... Angry

I used to have a postie live next door to me, he said the obvious one is not to put coins in envelopes because the unscrupulous ones just give the envelope a flick and the coins shoot out and leave a small exit hole!
Also told me about a dog that used to grab letters out of his hand as he was posting them through the letter box (scared the hell out of him!) so over time when he was delivering at that address he would hold on tight to the letters, start to push them through , wait for the dog to grab hold then have a mini tug of war with the dog, the result was the letters got pretty chewed up and within a short space of time the dog stopped collecting the post  Grin
