Well I popped out this morning for a few hours on a field, that strangely given the time of year has just been rough ploughed. Well I have to admit the enthusiasm was waning and the "rough" was veryyyyyyy rough so after only 2 hours I gave up. I was detecting from what seemed like mountain top to mountain top and was just not getting any depth to speak of.
So finds were at a premium, though strangely I found three medieval pot legs and all different and from different areas of the field.
A "newish" thimble showed itself  as did a silver "thingy", not a clue what it is, it's lozenge shaped and although now squashed flat, looks as if it may have been pillowed in shape as the back, front and sides are from 3 different pieces of silver.
So my totals for 2011 will stand and all will be reset to zero to start again tomorrow. Fingers crossed as I found a hammy last New Years day. Have a great evening everybody and Happy New Year to everyone Wink
