Hi to you all ! Just like to share with you my day out yesterday, it was  on a farm in wiltshire my normal hunting ground,I have searched this 80 acre field before some years ago with very few finds, however I had decided to start the other end this time and work my way back and glad i did . The field had been ploughed and rolled,so conditions were  ideal, As i started detecting I noticed roman pottery scattered about infact quite a bit as can be seen from my pictures,
also a fair amount of lead. After about 4 hours i had found several roman coins, a part of a brooch head, a broken siliqua and numerous buttons etc, part of the field is set a side and i am sure whatever lies beneath the soil is situated within the set a side as most of the finds are close to it ,more searching i hope will confirm this as well as some better condition coins and artifacts. it was a great day out albeit very foggy at times, and as the farmer was also seeding keeping an eye out for the tractor was a must as i did not want to end up as human fertiliser ! I will get back soon and give an update.

Looks an excellent site Spikey, though I've got to tell you that if that field is 80 acres and ploughed, even if you detected it 5 days a week it would take you years to detect it properly.......so get back there soon Wink
