next time you are in a field where the cattle are showing more than a little interest,  i suggest you and your detecting partner whip out your instrument and put on a show.

enjoy

Brilliant! A really polite and appreciative audience. Smiley The bells added a nice touch.

That reminds me of a time when i had to answer a call of nature and climbed over a 5 bar gate and went behind the hedge and then when i looked up i saw about 40 pairs of eyes watching me a herd of cows all in a line .

A few years ago I parked up at the end of a pasture field and went into some ploughed fields. On the way back at lunchtime I was walking along an adjacent hedgerow to the gate into the pasture field. When I got alongside where the car was, I could hear a metallic clanking sound. When I got to the gate I was horrified to see a heard of heiffers surrounding the car. They had come in from another adjoining pasture field. Rather than startle them and get damage done to the car I decided to come back later.

On my return to the car they had disappeared. One of the wing mirrors was badly damaged and the other was left dangling by a cable and clanking against the side of the wing. The b######s had also licked the windows and paintwork all over. It was a bit embarrassing driving home and getting funny looks at all the windows smeared with their saliva. The paintwork ended up permanently marked. I was trying to sell the car at the time and one prospective buyer actually asked me what had happened to the paintwork. I had the p##s taken out of me at work for weeks later. I am really careful now whenever parking in a pasture field. Lol.
