Found this one yesterday, I thought it was just a waffer thin piece of copper.
I just gave it a wash and some detail has popped out.
But still no idea what it is. 2.4cm across
Is that a boat on one side ?

Any ideas?

Dave

Well done Dave a lovely find, it's a Nuremberg 'Ship penny' jetton circa 1500. Here's the PAS record for a similar one;

Well blow me down and shiver me timbers

So it is a ship!  Thanks Chef I would have never get there
without your kind help.
A Charles the first Half groat, and now a jetton
Things must be looking up

Thanks

It just shows how it important it is to look at your finds before you wing them!

I quite like the PAS description of 'pellety decoration around the fleur-de-lys' Smiley
