Hi Alan,  I've been having a look and I think it could be 15th C. Angel Figure qtr. gold Noble weight.

Have a look on the Colchester site at the last one down that sits on the James 1st blue line. Let me know what you think.

i think you are in the right area with that Val. Many thanks for looking, much appreciated indeed. The weight of the weight  Grin is 0.4g, which should help me ID it further.

Hi Alan, at 0.4g that's very light, hammered farthing weight, it may not be from a coin but id look more into Apothecary square weights, you may get closer to your 0.4g

the back does look as it it is blank, but its hard to tell.
