I had the large coil but I it very heavy compared to the stock coil and sold it. It could be because I'm quite tall and the extra leverage told its toll. The eleven inch coil looks favourite with its extra coverage. As regards depth I don't think that  there will be much between any of the coils, most of it is marketing hype. If you take your time with the Deus it is equal to any other top of the range machine but appreciably lighter and fully wireless.

Do all  you Deus users reckon that the big coil is worth it?

I've been using the GMP at 18khz - but maybe I need to go somewhere where I'm likely to find some stuff too.....

I prefere the bigger coil. More for that it allows you to cover more ground as you sweep. Also don't be afraid to try using the Deus other kHz frequencies

nice finds for first trip out with the Deus,it's a good machine, very light and not having to worry about headphone cord is a big plus.well found.i tend to use mainly GM power or Deus fast depending on iron content of the ground.

Don't be fooled by the bigger coil advocates, they might cover more ground physically but they are no match for someone who uses the smaller coils diligently. As for other programmes/frequencies I use gmp or Deus fast on plough or stubble. At the last count I have had over 80 hammered with the Deus and that is from rural  North Wales, just stick with it and you will reap the rewards.

A big Yes,.one of my better decisions since taking up the hobby.

I now only use the 9" coil in long grass, tight spots or on rough ploughed land.

So is that for depth or ground coeverage or both? I'm reluctant to fork out for a larger coil for the Deus as they are midly expensive.....
