Matt there are a frightening amount of myths circulating regarding words and phrases in this hobby and one you will no doubt come across in this hobby is the word "Bank" ask a few long time detectorists (who should know better) where the word comes from and you will eventually hear the explanation that it comes from the time when people used to bury their money and the banks of streams and rivers were a popular place....
Now this is a lovely story and not only believable but we want to believe it (as detectorists) but sadly the word is  Lombardic for counter, not half as sexy is it Wink
