had 3 hours and got soaked through but managed to find a few bits n bobs .one george iii halfpenny , 2 x george v halfpennys , a 1880 centenery of sunday schools medal,2 lead buttons,part of a spoon and some weird tool with solid brass block and would have has a wooden handle maybe a masons chipping tool ? any info on the tool would be great .

The "tool" is a soldering iron. Heat the copper end in a fire, bit of flux on job to be soldered and melt the solder on to item

Well done on getting out Chantal.  At least the ground should have been easy to dig. 

Nice  Soldering iron.  I found one with a great big lump of copper on the end of it.  Made the mistake of showing it to the Farmer and he kept it.  Worth a bob or two, put it in the tub. Wink
