Ancientpat lent me these pics to post. The first one is from 1980 and shows the man himself with his top-of-the-range C-Scope helping (with other Cardiff Scan Club members) to clear Cosmeston Country Park of lead shot. I believe the other detectorist is/was named Graham Herd.

And the second picture shows Cardiff members being briefed before a search for a murder weapon on Cowbridge Common in October 1979. Pat is there but hidden, and I believe Pat's wife is the first lady visible from the left. (Tell me if I'm wrong Pat).

Interesting to see all those C-Scopes and what people wore for detecting in those days (eg the old gents in ties and wellies).

Can anyone name any of the other members in the picture? (Not a quiz - I have no idea!)

A nice couple of pics there Peter. That is still Mid Wales detecting fashion 2010. I think the uniform copper looks extremely suspicious though. Shocked
