Hi all, decided to catch the last hour before low water with my son at the local beach. We braved the british weather, HAD IT ALL, hail, sleet, snow, rain and gales Sad.Finds coins, fishing weight, and bits and bobs.Last hole going off dug down, lifted the sand out to thy side, waved the coil over hole no signal, my son notice a glint in the sand and shouted GOLD!!  WE both jump at it, washing the sand off with my heart beatting loud but on realising it was a wee brass breaclet Embarrassed.Never the less we got out and had some fun Grin rather than looking out of the window feeling sorry for ourselves Sad Here my boy with his gold Grin its just a shame that he is not quite old enough to go on DW rallies which he would like to go  Sad

agree with Dave there falcon, just because it doesn't have a hallmark doesn't mean its not gold...
then again just cos its gold coloured doesn't mean it is either.
have a good look at it before discounting it as brass, if it scratches quite easily then its not likely to be brass.

your right the bracelet is not gold but it must have looked good coming up .
the inside shows it to be a base metal not precious but never mind it could have been.
well done for venturing out and i hope your boy gains good knowledge for his future from detecting with you.
there are many rallies going on inthe uk that juniors can go to mind you.
it's a pity more aren't because without the youth coming through we will fade away .....
