Out again today for just a couple of hours and 4 layers was far to much today in the sunshine, Got the usual bits and bobs but also two strange ones for you.
This I first thought was a piece of electrical cable, but on cleaning it it's silver. Was it a ring? any ideas?

Then the very next signal things got even stranger. A 2 Danish skilling (no not shilling), dated 1716. it was one of Denmarks last hammered coins. As I said yesterday "they all count" Grin

I can't make out the size of the twisted wire item in pic1 but it could very well be Roman to modern.......
depends on the site. With the hammered it looks medieval.

I had one in copper and FLO was reticent to put an age on it saying it COULD be Roman or
modern. Sitting on the fence!  Wink

A couple of really interesting finds Chef. I know the Vikings used to wear twisted silver rings as well as the Romans. My understaing is they are incredibly hard to date.

Love the Danish hammered as well. - A really interesting find.

Well done matey

I have also seen Viking rings of this design, but who knows.  This weather seems good for producing the finds. Cheesy
