well I got out for 4 hours today and they were the longest 4 hours of my life, well at least 3 of them were  Cheesy
It all started quite well with a not to cold morning and a the promise of some sunshine for later (liars), my first two signals proved to be the what are the obligatory buttons in these fields, quickly followed by a nice but crushed silver thimble, no hall mark as far as I can see but it may have been longer with the marks at the base Huh

more buttons followed, then a good but small (tight) signal which took some finding, "thank god for the Garrett probe" it turned out to be the smallest piece of hammered coin I have ever recovered, but hey they all count Roll Eyes.
You should be able to just make out the top right corner of the Royal shield and the backsides of two of the lions.

Other than a few odd coppers and pot mends that was about it, But strangely when I entered the field I said a prayer to lead me to where I could retrieve gold.........Well I'm not sure if someone up there is hard of hearing but I ended up with a lead Golden retriever  Grin

Well done that man. 10  out of 10 for courage. I will have to read my manual before I go out, I'll have forgotten how to do it. Grin
I took the dogs out, got soaked. Came home, made a drink and saw Mr.Thrush, through the window, looking hungry so went to find him some snails, got soaked again.
The ground here is still frozen solid with what feels like washing up liquid lying on top, slippery as hell.
Roll on Spring. Huh
