Hi Peter , found this on a field that had just given me a Roman coin and assumed it was a fibula. Any idea , its about the size you'd expect a fibula head to be

Looks like Roman Bezel top(Roman ring).

Its just that the hollow out on the back doesnt look right for a sping to fit into also as chef pointed out to me there does not seem to be anywhere on the head that the brooch has snapped off from. Funnily enough , ring besal is what Cheffy thought.
