I am sure that you all know by now that the "Mad Dog" is no longer with us, and a whole new dawn is approaching Libya.

What you may not know though is that apart from the longest stretch of Mediterranean beaches, Libya also boasts arguably the best preserved Roman cities, basilicas, ampitheatres and remains in the world.

I was at a Libyan wedding last April, and the chap I was sat next to was telling me at the time that if Libya had a new regieme that tourism would be one of the main sources of income into the country. He was telling me about literally picking up Roman coinage in his parents garden when he was a kid. I obviously asked him about detecting and it was clear you couldn't do it at that time, but who is to say what the future months hold.

Anyone on for a Detectingwales Rally in Libya?

Cheers
Neil
