Yesterday I was held up getting out by chatting with Pipster on Skype only to spend a good half an hour then on the phone to deadlock when I got to the field. Well They did it to me again today lol I'm sure there working to a plan Cheesy
Still I headed back to the field I was on yesterday that had yielded some Roman coins but once again the straw was still lying waiting for bailing so I thought I would try a new field, still stubble but cleared, this part of the hillside has produced very few finds and I feel it was wooded but beggars can't be choosers and I had a quick field walk. It was stuffed with Samian ware, loads of the stuff so I got the machine switched on and started...but how strange this field was as quiet as the grave, no sign of any Roman metallic objects at all, though I didn't manage to give it many laps as the rain appeared with a vengeance.
I did however find an Eddy penny, the first hammy I have found since rain stopped play at the end of May. Ironically it was my very first signal too.
