I am afraid Charles that the more we dig, the more we will find. I am sure the system has been milked to the point of saturation by these greedy, pompous, buffoons. I for one would dissolve parliament and the whole house, completely change the rules and make them public for a start. I am a staunch anti politician and they make my blood boil.

Allan & Charles,i agree with what you have said,but nothing will be done,the general population are to soft! We should be up in arms staging a revolt & demanding a desolved parliament,the Queen should speak for the people,but will she ? Will she Eckers like !!
I realised years ago that politicians are only out to line their own pockets & havn`t voted for over 20yrs.
This last Fiasco,thanks to the daily-telagraph,just confirms it & brought it to the Publics attension.
They justify spending all the Tax-payers money on stupid unneccasary items by stating & i quote: "this allowance is classed as part of our salary & therefore our entitlement" Well if this is this case why wasn`t it taxed as such??
Sorry to waffle on but this hole charade just makes my blood BOIL !

Our system is being milked. They show no remorse and are only sorry that they were caught out. They expected to get a law passed that these claims would be exempt from the freedom of information act. I worked for my local council and one of the councillors became an M.P. He is on that list. He was only ever interested in his expenses even when he was a councillor.

If, God forbid I lost my job and wanted to claim money from the state I would have to fill in endless forms detailing my whole financial history. These people are beneath contempt.

It is across the parties which just goes to show that hman greed drives them whatever their political affiliations.
