I found this coin about a year ago, I cannot work out why it's part gold colour and part silver, at the time of finding it someone said that it was the effect of the soil condition, I can't seem to go along with that theory ( I maybe wrong), or could it be an attempt to pass it off as a gold coin, an ID of what lizzy it is would be great, the size is about 18mm.
Thanks
Geoff

I would say your suspicions are right Geoff, it's a halfgroat but at 18mm and gold would be the same size as a half crown Wink

I agree with the Chef - an attempt to pass it off as a gold crown.

Thanks Geoff/Doc, it's a shame it's not real, it's the same size as a Half Crown, still next time, you never know  Grin
