Bought a xp Deus on gumtree and got ripped off the guy never sent it would anyone know a mark green from kettering or know someone who does ? Any help would be greatfull

Sorry to hear this, Gumtree is getting a reputation of being a good conman's hunting ground. PayPal or cash on collection are the only way on there.
I'm sorry to say Mark Green from Kettering may not exist or if he does he may have no idea of what's going on Undecided

I got a whites dfx off there sent a bank transfer,some guy bought a Land Rover off ebay by bank transfer and thought I should trust someone as he did to me.i would take proof of the deal and he's bank details to the police as they could proberly track him down

i almost got caught out on gumtree, some time ago , i was just about to buy a detector and gumtree emailed me not to conclude the deal as they suspected he was a conman he claimed to be in isle of white   was  "selling " mine lab

go to freeelectoralroll.co.uk  type in the name and kettering and you should come up with an address .. but as geoff says, it may be an innocent victim.

Be careful I have been reading on another forum about a scam on gumtree:
Scammer advertises say a Deus, you then pay by PayPal into account they give you ... This account is not theirs but an account of someone else that is selling something.
Scammer then goes and collects item from that other person (as you have paid for it)leaving them totally out of the equation and untraceable.
So possibly the person you have is totally oblivious.

The person that is saying they are from the isle of white is the one that ripped me off his real name is mark green hes from kettering i have reported it to the police ( his name was leeked to me :-) ) they are on to him but you know the police

I only think of Gumtree as Ebay local (and owned by them). Perhaps its worth putting out a shout on the other detecting forums for a local detectorist to check it out before buying.
I wouldnt have a problem if someone asked me to do it.
I know it doesnt help your situation but I hope you get some success.
In the meantime may his B**ls turn square and go septic in the corners
