Turn Of The Plough

Yesterday I finally got on my most productive roman site, for coins anyway, its been ploughed and awaiting maize crop shortly, not rolled unfortunately but a good quantity of roman appeared from this probable market/trading site. For some reason not a lot of brooches come of here so the early brooch pictured was a very welcome gift....Dolphin I believe (hinged variety) mid 1st cent. The handle is from a spoon. Wink

Sorry about that Val, just short of my best last year which was 43 coins in a 7hr search

paying for it today a bit achy for some reason ???didn't stop me going out again today thou all though not this site. Wink

Well,well,well Mr Paul Spikey, looks like you have had a "field day" (excuse the pun) its phenomenal the amount of "goodies" you are detecting, and as "Lady Val " rightly says you put the rest of us mere mortals to shame!!
But,good on you,and its just great to see that there are areas of land that are out there with fantastic areas of history yet to be detected ..
