hi all, just a thought, but what do you do with the pigeon rings that you find?  some where some poor sod is wondering what has become of his bird, and they can be quite expensive, and it is at the end
of the day some poor working mans hobby, many fall foul of hawks, and other predators and just do not make it home,so i thought i would look it up on the internet how to get in touch with the lost
pigeon people and came up with this address for south wales, gail@whpu.org.uk  it would be nice to put the owners mind at rest.  if you do get in touch with gail dont forget to mention ring colour etc.
thanks  cronge,   incidently when i had a boat, and used to go out to flatholme i used to see the remains of dead pigeons all over the place,in the bunkers and the hospital, and i suppose they were just too weary to go on,and of course they had no food or water and just died, but that was nearly forty years ago ,and i never had a metal detector then to expole the island and you can,t do it now
because some trust or other has it,and they charge you for staying there.   ttfn

any pigeon fancier can tell you how to contact the owner
on the ring you will have colour of ring  date of the bird
and number of the bird and yes you are right people would like to
know where their bird have ended up cause some can cost
a lot of money
