nice little find .

Hi again all, payed a little visit to my second farmer today and got permission to detect along the old public footpath through his field. Had a good morning too after finding a load of old coins a buckle and a button. This though was the final find of the day and its the best too. Any info about it would be very helpfull to me..... oh yeah !! I found it not too far from where I had that miners check.

In October 1918, the Labour Corps was given it own badge that comprised of crossed pick, shovel and rifle - the latter expressing the Pioneers dual role as fighting troops should the need arise, as it did during the 1918 German Spring Offensive - surmounted by a crown and laurel wreath. At the base was a scroll bearing the words Labor omnia vincit (Work conquers everything).

Thanks Alan ..... yes mate im doing pretty well now since that day on Porthcawl beach ! Building up my confidence now and aproaching farmers and so far its 2 outta 2 gave permission mate so its all good. Plenty of farms still to visit too so with a bit of luck I will get a few more

NIce going Doc, i'm glad i bumped into you now , nice to know your conffidence is growing and your getting farms now too, there will be no stopping you now lol, hope you can get some good finds on them and any new ones too, your knowledge will grow too, with the experiences from there and here,
