I was in the chatroom with Phil Ynysboeth a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned that his house had been flooded, I said there was very little chance of my house flooding no matter how heavy it rained as my house is on a hill.

I think you know what's coming!

About a week after my chat with Phil the wife and I went shopping and were out for a few hours, we got home and as I was pulling the doorkey out of my pocket I noticed water running over the doorstep from inside the house, Shocked trying to stay calm I opened the door and it was like Moses parting the Red Sea, there must have been 6" of water all over the downstairs floors. I looked in the kitchen and could see a fountain of water coming from under the sink, what had happened was a flexi-pipe connecting the kitchen taps had split. I turned the water off at the stopcock and then spent the rest of the day cleaning up the mess and replacing the pipe.. Luckily we have tiled floors and no real damage was done The electrics had also tripped as water had got into the sockets. The best part was our staffie who isn't allowed on the furniture, she'd jumped onto a chair to get out of the water and was fast asleep oblivious to the mess around her!

So folks the next time I chat with Phil and he mentions some disaster that's befallen him I won't say "It's never happened to me" . lol

He's a cracking bloke really. Smiley

Hi Richy

Sorry to hear about your misfortune

I Live on a hill to lol

If you keywords Ynysboeth flood youll see how bad it was
a drainage gully blocked and flooded the whole street and id bought a shed to keep my bikes in and that blocked the waters path around the house.
