Have had an invite a couple of weeks ago to be involved in this Kev. I live 10 mins from Eardisley, my family home is 10 mins away in a different direction and some of my family are buried in the church next door. Over the years I have done quite a bit of field walking around the village and some detecting just a stones throw away. Two of my six in total hammered coins are from Eardisley both Edward the first. The fields have yielded many items from all periods but most significantly a lot of Roman period Severn Valley Ware and Samian but no metal work. A few years ago a trial trench was put in and ROMAN was found at the bottom of the trench. The Roman period background is all around the site but no settlement is known. Hope the dig answers a few questions and I will try and keep you posted.
